J. Armando B. Rodrigues

Armando Rodrigues is a Portuguese RF engineer passionate about technology and product development. With a master’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Porto, where he specialized in Telecommunications, Armando has worked on antenna and PCB design for ultra-low-power IoT devices and currently works in R&D for connectivity solutions in the automotive industry at Continental Advanced Antenna.

Throughout his academic journey, at NEEEC-FEUP, Armando stood out for his leadership in student initiatives, technical workshops and efforts to promote electrical engineering among young people. He also spent time abroad through Erasmus in Slovakia and worked as a research intern at INESC-TEC.

A hands-on inventor by nature, Armando is especially interested in antenna design, PCB development, IoT technologies, amateur radio (callsign: CR7BMI) and embedded programming in Rust.

Outside work, Armando is an avid explorer and creative thinker. He enjoys hiking across the world, especially in the mountains of Peneda-Gerês National Park. He also writes articles on Medium, sharing practical guides and reflections about almost anything, but mostly on engineering, technology, and politics. In his free time, he tinkers with DIY electronics and CASIO watches, cares for bonsai trees and enjoys everything sci-fi related.
